The caffeine kicks in and they both begin to play, however as the days go on MoeMoe begins to act weird. After each cup she becomes more aggressive, fidgety and her eyes widen. Noodle is terrified of what his friend is becoming and decides to no longer make coffee for his friend. MoeMoe will not have this and threatens Noodle into giving her more , but there is no more coffee left. Noodle wants to save his friend. He trades his collar for some calming leaves he gets from koala. MoeMoe drinks then coffee with the leaves making her calm and chilled. Subscribe to our free science-based videos: 🤍 Decaf is short for decaffeinated coffee. It's coffee from coffee beans that have had at least 97% of their caffeine removed. So it's not completely caffeine free. There are many safe ways to remove caffeine from raw coffee beans. Most of them include water, organic solvents or carbon dioxide. This process leaves the nutritional value of decaf similar to regular coffee, apart from the caffeine content. So there's no issues with the caffeine removal process itself, but how does the end product compare to the health benefits of regular coffee? Regular coffee is the biggest source of antioxidants in the Western diet, more than we get from fruits and vegetables combined. Antioxidants are molecules thought to help protect against numerous lifestyle diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease. STUDY: 🤍 Decaf usually contains similar amounts of antioxidants to regular coffee, although some studies have found levels can be up to 15% lower due to losses in the decaffeination process. Despite this potential small drop in antioxidants, numerous studies have found strong associations between decaf coffee consumption and health benefits. STUDIES: 🤍 🤍 Drinking coffee, both regular and decaf, has been linked with reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. Each daily cup may reduce the risk up to 7%. STUDY: 🤍 The effects of decaf on liver function are not as well studied as regular coffee, but one large observational study linked decaf with reduced liver enzyme levels, which suggests a protective effect. STUDY: 🤍 Drinking decaf has also been linked with a small but significant reduction in the risk of premature death, as well as death from stroke or heart disease. STUDIES: 🤍 🤍 Both regular and decaf coffee also seem to have positive effects on age-related mental decline, with human cell studies showing decaf may protect neurons in the brain. This could help prevent the development of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Where regular coffee has the greatest edge over decaf is all the health effects associated with caffeine, obviously. Things like improved energy, mood, metabolic rate, and athletic performance. But otherwise decaf coffee is still a great choice if you are sensitive to caffeine or have a medical condition that will benefit from a caffeine-restricted diet. It's perfectly safe and carries most of the same benefits as regular coffee, just without the caffeine side effects. When the word "decaf" is used among coffee connoisseurs, though, it's as if the world is about to end. Even among coffee users who only have one cup a day, decaf coffee has a bad connotation. Many individuals are unsure why they should drink decaf coffee, while others claim it tastes worse than regular coffee. Part of the issue is that decaf coffee is chemically processed, and the decaffeination process has a history of utilizing harmful chemicals. Those hazardous solvents are no longer employed, and the ultimate product is now far safer to eat. There are a variety of reasons why people switch to decaf coffee, but the most common reason is a doctor's prescription. Let's look at 5 health benefits of decaf coffee that you probably didn't realize. 1. It has the potential to reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes. Coffee has long been renowned for its capacity to alleviate a variety of ailments, but this has always been attributed to caffeine. However, decaf has been proven to have similar effects in a few studies, indicating that it's not just the caffeine that helps prevent Type 2 Diabetes. Decaf coffee, in fact, can be just as helpful as normal coffee without exposing you to caffeine on a daily basis. While researchers aren't sure what causes these effects in both regular and decaf coffee, the fact that it isn't primarily due to caffeine is encouraging news for decaf consumers everywhere. 2. Caffeine consumption should be reduced to improve sleep and reduce anxiety. When someone is exhausted in the morning, especially after a long and sleepless night, coffee is frequently the first thing that comes to mind. Caffeine, on the other hand, is a potent stimulant that can disrupt your sleep and cause insomnia. Caffeine-induced sleeplessness can be alleviated by switching to decaf coffee. This will help you feel more energized in the morning. Caffeine abstinence can also assist to reduce anxiety, especially in people who suffer from anxiety disorders. 3. Antioxidants are the same as in regular coffee. Switching to decaf should be simple for individuals who drink coffee just for its antioxidants. The reason for this is that decaf coffee has the same antioxidants as regular coffee. However, because to the caffeine extraction procedure, decaf has a somewhat decreased level of these antioxidants. Regardless, individuals who have been drinking the world's most popular drug for health reasons can now switch to decaf with confidence. 4. Acidity is lower than regular coffee. Coffee is quite acidic, thus it's frequently blended with cheese to help offset the acidity. Regular coffee use might cause heartburn and other unpleasant side effects. The lower acidic content of decaf coffee, which is mainly attributable to the decaffeination procedure, is a key advantage. Switching to decaf coffee will help patients who suffer from chronic heartburn (GERD) breathe easier. 5. Reduce Your Chances of Dying from Fatal Cardiovascular Diseases. Decaffeinated coffee, contrary to popular opinion, may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Because of its stimulating effects, coffee might aggravate heart problems.
